Report: Yandex to cap smart speakers sales by 2 gadgets per buyer

MOSCOW, Jul 9 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex will limit sales of smart speaker Yandex.Station, its first hardware product, by two devices per buyer at the first stage, business daily Vedomosti reported on Monday citing the company.

“Demand for Yandex.Station is very high: only within the first hours after the announcement we received over 20,000 bids,” Yandex’s chief for experimental products Konstantin Kruglov said. “So that a wider circle of clients would get the new device, we’ve introduced a limit: maximum two gadgets per customer.”

Sales of Yandex.Station speakers will start on Tuesday. The price was earlier reported at 9,990 rubles.
